The Bio
Born in Murmansk, an extreme city well beyond the Arctic Circle at the very north of Kola Peninsula, I spent my youth traveling in Kola and Karelia, fishing and hunting. Having moved to St.Petersburg in early 1990-s to graduate in medicine, I suddenly discovered myself inside the local kayak community.
After becoming a doctor, I split my life between surgery, whitewater kayaking and filming. I participated in numerous freestyle competitions, including Euro’98 in Augsburg and Preworld’2000 in Sort, and in many extreme kayak expeditions. My medical experience enabled me to calmly film the carnage and to deal with the consequences.
Finally I left my job in the hospital and became a freelance filmmaker, working in numerous outdoor expeditions sponsored by Russian TV channels. I now can be much easier found in some remote part of the globe than at my home in St.Petersburg.
